Garden World first opened in 1978. At that time, it comprised only half an acre. Since that time, we have grown to 6.6 acres, through several land purchases.

Several expansions have gotten us to the size we are today. The most recent being the expansion of our shadehouse (tree and shrub area) about 10 years ago.


The store has never changed ownership and has always been committed to being Abilene's premiere plant store. We have been voted best Garden Center in the Abilene Reporter News' Best of Abilene contest for the last 10 years straight. We are very proud of that accomplishment.

The general manager has been with us for 18 years, and all told, we have about 100 years of combined plant and garden supply knowledge.
